Top of pageIn the world of educational publishing, media, and learning solutions for college students, PearsonStudents breaks new ground by believing that:
“Students should have a place to incorporate their views and ideas into their learning experience.”
In 2006, top Pearson executives in the Higher Education group began searching for new ways to start a dialogue with their most important product users: college students. Sandi Kirshner, Chief Marketing Officer of Pearson Higher Education, called on Director of Student Relations Teresa Chung to lead the way in redefining Pearson's connection with students. Inspired by the belief that students can provide guidance to company leaders, Teresa traveled across the country to meet with students in focus groups. She then interviewed university deans, business leaders outside the industry, and Pearson's senior management team about how to create an enriching experience for students. From their collective feedback, Pearson embarked on several key programs:
Through the Pearson Student Advisory Board and the Pearson Campus Ambassadors, students get to work directly with Pearson staff while honing real-life business skills. More than that, these programs are structured to teach applicable tools that will resonate throughout a student's personal and professional life. Pearson Students also believes that learning should happen both inside and outside the classroom. This vision has been fulfilled through the new initiative, Pearson Free Agent, which culls talents from a wide demographic of students and turns their individual talents into marketable—and profitable—commodities.
Because Pearson Education has products ranging many disciplines, it is only fitting that the site welcomes students of all majors and backgrounds to participate.
Pearson Students will continue to grow and change with the actions and inspiration of future generations of participants. We hope that you'll join us as we strive to help meet the needs of your peers across the world.
